Accident Friday afternoon delays traffic on Main Street

Sgt. Jason Reed of the Morris Police Department investigates a car accident at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Sixth Street on Friday, Aug. 15 at about 12:15 p.m. The passengers of the 2008 Chevrolet Impala, Timothy and Susan Uphoff of Herman, were taken to Stevens Community Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries. The driver of the van who hit them was uninjured.

MORRIS – A crash between a delivery truck and a car delayed traffic on Main Street in Morris just after noon on Friday.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Timothy Uphoff of Morris was hit by a delivery van driven by Wesley Bratton of Morris. Uphoff was driving north along Atlantic Avenue and was hit when Bratton was attempting to cross the street at the Sixth Street intersection, Morris Police Chief Ross Tiegs reported Friday. 

Uphoff and his passenger, Susan Uphoff of Herman, were taken by ambulance to Stevens Community Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries and were expected to be released  from SCMC without hospitalization.

The accident is being investigated by the Morris Police Department with assistance from the University of Minnesota, Morris Police Department, Stevens County Sheriff’s Office and the Stevens County Ambulance Service.
