To help celebrate spring, Morris Area Elementary School is putting together its annual Book Swap.
All families who have children who attend MAES, St. Mary's, home schools, or ECFE are invited to participate.
All participants have to do is show up at the MAES Cafeteria on Monday, April 28, between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. with a book or books to swap. The books will be checked in, and participants will be given a ticket for each one.
Before the swap, everyone can enjoy free refreshments and entertainment. During that time, there will also be prize drawings. Between 7 p.m and 8 p.m., participants will be able to choose any book they'd like. If they bring one book, they get to take one book. If they bring five books, they get to take five books. Everyone will turn in book tickets at the check out table after they've chosen books.
The Book Swap is open to all ages: preschool, primary grades, intermediate grades, junior high, young adult, and adult. Books will be sorted according to age level when they are brought in.
Please make sure the books brought in are in good condition, and that they are appropriate for a family event. Organizers request that coloring books or puzzle-type books which have been written in not be brought for the swap. Any left over books will be donated to students and teachers at MAES and St. Mary's and donated to charitable organizations.
For questions, call Morris Area Elementary School at (320) 589-1250 and ask for Dawn Poore, Margie Stoick, or Chris Hopkins. The Book Swap is sponsored by the MAES Title I department.
