Another Memorial Day
The family and friends of Kurt Kruize have a second Memorial Day this year to remember their loved one.
A memorial service for Kruize, a Hancock native, is Sunday, June 6. The service is at the Hancock School at 1:30 p.m.
The public is invited to attend.
Kruize, a Hancock graduate, died while serving in Iraq in April. His parents, Lyle and Bev Kruize, along with many other relatives, live in the Hancock area.
The Hancock Police and Fire departments will provide a silent escort for the family into town from Page Lake beginning at 1 p.m. The Patriot Guard will also honor Kruize and the family by lining the route.
Pastor Becky Worner, of East and West Zion Lutheran Churches, will lead the service.
Kurt's sisters have compiled a slide show to highlight his life and dedication to his country.
There will be music and other tributes to Kurt from his friends. The West Zion Church members will serve a lunch following the service.
