Area Student Accomplishments
Amy Goette and Lewis Varnum of Chokio and Dena Carbert and Tyler McNally of Morris were named to the fall 2012 Alexandria Technical and Community College's dean's list. Goette is enrolled in the liberal arts and sciences program and Varnum is enrolled in the communication art and design program. Carbert is enrolled in the practical nursing program and McNally is enrolled in the mechatronics program. To be eligible for the dean's list, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or above.
Kendra Schmidgall of Hancock has been named to the Lake Area Tech's fall 2012 president's list. To be named to the president's list, students must be full-time and maintain grade-point averages of 3.5 or above. Schmidgall has a 4.0 grade-point average.
Lisa Hennessy of Alberta, Jacob Ascheman of Hancock and Mason Metzger and Bradley Parson of Morris have been named to Ridgewater College's fall 2012 dean's list. To be eligible for the dean's list, students must have grade-point averages of 3.5 or above and be enrolled in a minimum of twelve credits.
Tim Ostby of Morris, a sophomore at Luther College in Iowa, was named to the fall 2012 dean's list. To be named to the dean's list, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must complete at least 12 credit hours with 10 hours of conventional grades (A, B, C, D). Ostby is the son of Chayla and Troy Ostby.
Hannah Newhouse of Hancock graduated from South Dakota State University after the fall 2012 session.
