Area teams competing at state tourneys
Several area baseball teams are participating in state championship tournaments this weekend.
The Morris 14U baseball team will be competing in the division A state championship in St. Cloud. Morris starts play at 8 a.m. Saturday against Farmington and plays Coon Rapids at 10:15 a.m. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. at Putz Field.
Morris is participating in the 13U class B championship at Marshall. In pool play Saturday, Morris plays the Snappers at 1:15 p.m. and Waconia at 3:30 p.m. That championship is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The 12U team will be playing in Owatonna's B tourney Saturday with an 11 a.m. match up with Lake Elmo and a 3 p.m. game with Belle Plaine. The championship is set for Sunday at 3:45 p.m.
The Chokio Area 11U team plays in the B state tournament in New Ulm facing Little Falls, Cold Spring, and St. Louis Park in pool play. The championship game will be Sunday at 3 p.m.
