You may be wondering, can the weather affect your allergies? Absolutely! Weather can have a big impact on your allergies and can influence your hay fever symptoms. You may notice that allergy symptoms are less severe on days that are raining, cloudy, or little wind is occurring.
Why is this? Because pollen doesn't move about as much when the conditions are such. When it is hot, dry, and windy there is greater pollen and mold in the air and your allergies may flair up. In 1980 straight-line winds of nearly 100 mph caused enormous damage, mainly in Dakota County. Some 43 million dollars in damage was reported and 100 thousand people were without power. Alexandria hit 86 degrees that day and St. Cloud reached 91 degrees with scattered showers and t-storms as well.
