Area Weather: Finally, some real summer weather but it's not going to last long
We finally had some real summer weather this week! I hope you were able to get out on area lakes and make the most of the great weather.
Highs on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday reached the upper 80s and lower 90s. We haven't talked about above normal temperatures very much this summer. And those above normal temperatures will continue for today, but then temperatures will cool off considerably by Sunday and Monday. We knew it couldn't last, right?
We could see some rain during that period as a cold front pushes through the area. It looks like the best chance for measurable rain will arrive by Sunday. By the way, for all of you allergy sufferers the main irritant out there right now is weed pollen for the weekend into next week. I know many of you are suffering quite a bit right now. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
In 1978, the Boundary Waters area was hit by a tornado. Some of the damage could still be seen 10 years later!
Warm air, which weighs less than cool air, will rise.
