Area Weather: Good rains arrive at just the right time this week

We received some much needed rain across the area this week. Thankfully, the rain held off until after the Labor Day holiday weekend. Alexandria received .17" of rain on Tuesday out ahead of a cold front that pushed through the state. More rain fell early Wednesday morning in Alexandria as .09" of rain was recorded at the KSAX studio. A spotter in Glenwood reported over an inch of rain Tuesday morning alone! Morris received .29" of rain on Tuesday. We certainly needed the rain as it remains dry out there. On another note, for those of you who love to look to the skies, this week the last-quarter Moon took place at exactly 9:16 p.m Friday night. After the moon rose around the middle of the night Friday night, you might have seen it shining between Beta and Zeta Tauri with the Bull's horn-tips visible. Have a great weekend and enjoy the remaining days of summer!
