Area Weather: Halloween snow should stay to south
A big weekend is coming up. Not only is it Halloween weekend, but it is also the weekend that we turn back the clocks one hour!
I know all the fire departments around the area, including the Morris Fire Department, encourage everyone to make sure to change your battery in your smoke detector this weekend when you turn back your clocks.
It has been another unusual week this week in the weather department. We did have some sunshine on Monday and Tuesday, along with warmer temperatures. It felt like it has been forever since we have seen "Mr. Sun!"
There is a slight chance of a little bit of a rain/snow mix on Halloween, but I think that should stay well to our north.
WEATHER HISTORY
In 1951 an early snow storm dropped as much as 8 inches of snowfall in North Central Minnesota. Mora picked up 8 inches of snow, while Long Prairie received 6 inches. Glenwood, Little Falls, Morris, and New London all reported 5 inches of new snow. In addition, most surrounding areas received one to three inches of snow!
WEATHER FACT
A corn field of one acre gives off 4,000 gallons of water per day!
