Area Weather: No 'dog days' for area on horizon this week
Cooler than normal temperatures are projected for the rest of the week as we head into the first of August and the "dog days of summer."
Typically, the "dog days of summer" are marked by hot days and stagnant conditions. As we head into August, however, we will be cooler than average and anything but stagnant.
Temperatures will be about 10 degrees cooler than average for Wednesday. We do have small chances for rain for much of the week, but the best chance for rain is Wednesday afternoon into Thursday.
This certainly has been anything but a "normal" summer! Have a great rest of the week and weekend.
The longest lasting rainbow was 3 hours on August 14, 1979 on the coast of Gwynedd in North Wales.
