The Labor Day weekend is upon us and the weather looks great!
Temperatures will be warmer than average with highs near 80 degrees all three days. There is a slight chance of rain late Monday, but at this stage that chance is remote.
Since this is the unofficial close of summer we need to look back a bit. The highest temperature recorded during the month of June was on June 23 when it hit 89 degrees. Morris also hit 89 degrees that day. The warmest temperature for the month of July was on July 23 when it reached 84 degrees in Alexandria. During the month of August two days hit 90 degrees on both Aug. 12 and Aug. 14.
It certainly was a cooler than normal month. We are going to see temperatures above normal for this weekend so make the most of it! The summer was a cool one...
In 1990, nine inches of rain fell over two days in Duluth, washing out a million dollars worth in roads.
Nearly half of all flash flood fatalities are vehicle-related.
