Area Weather: Showers possible through weekend
If you think it has been a rainy and somewhat cool month of June, you are correct.
The Morris area is in pretty good shape as well in regards to rainfall. Areas to our east and northeast are way below normal for rainfall and remain in a drought situation. More rainfall is very possible into this weekend.
In 2003 heavy rains fell across Central Minnesota. Elk River picked up 8.19" of rain. Meanwhile, 4.36" of rain in just 4 hours in Maplewood.
The most tornado prone city in the U.S. during the month of July is Minneapolis followed by St. Paul.
