Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta won a third-straight game at home versus Melrose 51-41 Thursday.

“It took a while for the Tigers to get things going,” explained coach Dale Henrich. “We had to work on our passing decisions on offense and moving our feet on defense.

“We really rebounded well to start the game and that fell off until the middle of the second half when the Tigers made a strong push to go up by, and hold on to, a 10-point lead.

“We really had balanced scoring and rebounding,” added Henrich. “The girls played well together for this win.”

Katie Holzheimer, Beth Holland, and Nicole Strobel each reached low double figures to help the Tigers. Strobel snared eight rebounds and MaKenzie Smith and Kaitlin Vogel had seven each.

The Dutch got 22 points and 16 rebounds from 5-11 sophomore guard Emily Goerdt.
