
Baseball: Tigers fall to Montevideo
Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta dropped a West Central Conference South game to Montevideo Tuesday at home.
Montevideo's Colton Vien struck out eight and led the ThunderHawks to a 3-0 victory.
With the game scoreless through the fourth inning, Montevideo pushed across a run in the top of the fifth when a runner reached second on a throwing error and was knocked in on a base hit by Joe Bednar.
The T-Hawks scored two more in the sixth when Brett Bergeson and Vien reached to lead off the inning. They scored on a throwing error and a suicide squeeze.
Sam Mattson took the loss for the Tigers with seven innings of work, allowing two earned runs and striking out five.
