Basketball season ends for Tiger girls

The season came to an end for the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta girls' basketball team with a 49-28 loss to New London-Spicer in the Section 6AA South Tournament Saturday.

The Tigers kept up to the Wildcats in the first half, leading for several minutes, before a 17-16 New London-Spicer edge at halftime.

Neither team shot well in the first half, but the Wildcats began to dominate in the second, outscoring the Tigers by 20 points.

McKenzie Smith led the Tigers with a double double including 15 points and 10 rebounds. Katie Holzheimer added eight points. Beth Holland grabbed eight boards.
