The defending Section 8-3A champions dominated at the start and maintained a cushion the entire way.

“It was a good first night for us,” Lumberjacks coach Teresa Colligan said. “We had people in new spots tonight and there are some things we need to work out but it was a good start.”

Among the players in a new spot was setter Alexa Greendahl. She did very well in her opening start. Greendahl finished with 29 set assists and a team-high 11 digs.

Among her targets was senior Jess Yost, who ripped 17 kills. Allie Heifort added nine winning spikes.

Hanna Olson, Yost and Myria Colley each contributed 10 digs while Blake Bardwell and Colley had three blocks.

Bemidji will make its home debut Thursday against Detroit Lakes. The match is scheduled to start around 7:15 p.m.
