Our weather has been challenging lately. Thank goodness for good books! Our Hot Reads for Cold Nights program was well received with over 150 people participating. Names were drawn for 30 lucky people who won coffee mugs and another 11 who won book bags. Thank you for your participation!
Over the winter we have accumulated a number of lost items, including jackets, mittens, and scarves along with assorted left-behind books and toys. Are you missing something? Remember to check at the library for your lost items.
Every year library policies are reviewed by the library board and updated as needed. Library hours will continue to be the same all year long, Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our Internet policy has been updated. Anyone using the computers is asked to sign the new policy regarding the use of the Internet. Your cooperation is appreciated.
The Friends of the Library are organizing a writer's workshop for May 7 and May 14, Thursday evenings at the library. UMM Professor David Ericksen has been asked to facilitate these sessions. If you are a writer or would like to aspire to become one, be sure to sign-up to participate. The workshop will be limited to 15 people.
The second week in April has traditionally been National Library Week, a celebration of the contributions made by libraries and librarians throughout the country. We hope you help us celebrate the occasion by visiting the library that week. Treats will be available, and for those who fill out a survey, a drawing will be held for special prize. We invite you to join us!
Did you know that the library subscribes to children's magazines? Back issues are available to check-out for one week. Titles include:
Ask - Science for Kids
Jack & Jill
National Geographic for Kids
New Moon Girls
Your Big Back Yard
