AUTHOR EVENT AT LIBRARY

Milkweed Editions is sponsoring an author event Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. at the library. Minnesota author, John Reimringer will talk about his debut novel, Vestments, a lyrical novel about a young priest's struggles with discerning his true calling. A book signing will follow with (really good) refreshments.

NEW CHILDRENS MURAL AT LIBRARY

The Morris Public Library is one of this year's recipients of Michael Eble's UMM Studio Art students' service-learning project. A mural has been created as a permanent display in the Children's area. Art students also created paintings inspired by children's literature. These paintings will be on display and available for purchase in the library for most of December. A reception will be held Thursday, Dec. 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Friends of the Morris Public Library and the Stevens County Human Services.

KILL-A-WATT METERS AVAILABLE FOR CHECK-OUT

Coming soon to the library, Kill-A-Watt meters. These meters are a handy gadget that can be plugged into appliances to assess how efficiently they run. The meters incorporate sophisticated digital electronics and allow data to be downloaded to a computer for graphing. A payback calculator is included which automatically calculates the number of months needed to recover costs of a new energy efficient appliance. The Morris Public library will have two available for check out soon.

Please note: FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY have donated a new, larger bulletin board for the front entry. Notices of community events are welcomed.
