Monday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m., photographer Doug Ohman will be in Morris at the library to share his stories about Minnesota libraries, "Free To All: Libraries of Minnesota" from his latest book, Libraries of Minnesota. This event is funded in part or whole with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.
Our second annual DILLY of a Day (Day in the Life of the Library) will be held the week of May 21. Anyone wanting an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the library is invited to schedule a tour (about one hour). We will be looking at the building and floor plan/space issues. If interested, call the library to set up a tour, 320-589-1634.
We have had some success with using the Morris Transit to deliver books to people's doorstep. If home delivery is something that would be helpful to you, contact the library to find out how we can help keep you supplied with reading materials.
This coming week is final's week at UMM. We have had a variety of student volunteers who will not be in town over the summer once the semester is over. We have appreciated all of their help and support throughout the year. Thank you to Amelia Birkholz, Kelly Carr, Hannah Lindquist, Lindsay Scott, and Laura Zerr.
Our continuing or new volunteers include: Corey Johnson, Minette Johnson, Ardath Larson, Samantha Kallhoff, Judy Oldenburg, and Raelene Reimers.
We couldn't do all we do without our volunteers, and that includes the Friends of the Library volunteers as well: Peter Bremer, Ted Goldstein, Cheryl Higgins, Jean Mauch, Darlene Pasche, Ruth Roquitte, and LaVerne Swanson. Thank you...thank you... thank you.
The library display case for May features the clay art of Deb Swezey's high school class. A variety of clay techniques are presented, including: coil, drape, mold, slab, wheel and sculpture construction.
We are closed Monday, May 28 for Memorial Day.
