The summer is winding down. With Labor Day just around the corner, please note that the library is closed Monday, Sept. 3.
The Science Kits that we featured during Summer Reading Program activities are available for check-out this fall. We have a special policy for their use. Please feel free to take advantage of them for educational purposes for groups.
After a month hiatus, story time for pre-school children is resuming Thursday, Sept. 6 at 10:30 a.m. Sharon Ehlers coordinates this weekly activity with the TREC program, students at the University of Minnesota, Morris, and community volunteers throughout the year. Join us if you can!
Last year, the Hancock and Morris libraries took a bus tour to the Science Museum to view the King Tut Exhibit. Funding was made available through the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Legacy Program and made possible to the Viking Library System. This year we will once again take a bus trip to the Twin Cities to see the exhibits at the History Museum in St. Paul. One bus will make the trip on Saturday, Oct. 13. If you are interested in joining us, please contact one of the libraries - Morris Library: (320) 589-1634 or Hancock Library: (320) 392-5666. Seating is limited and we will fill the bus on a first come, first served basis. It is an all day trip leaving at 7 a.m. and returning that evening around 7:30 p.m.
Our new display case features chip wood carving items collected by Minette Johnson.
If you have an interesting collection of objects you would like to display in future months, please call the library to schedule an exhibit, (320) 589-1630.
