A new year brings new beginnings. May we appreciate the gift and try anew to make this world our home.
There are many new beginnings at the library: new internet workstations, a new young adult (teen) area, new webpage, and new circulation policies. But I get ahead of myself, first things first. Story time picks up again with Kindermusik, presented by Tami Sperr, a fun way to introduce your children to music. It will be held Thursday, Jan. 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the library meeting room.
Jan. 12 kicks off our adult reading program, Hot Reads for Cold Nights - this year featuring book bingo. Pick up a card and see how many books it takes you to make a bingo! There will be weekly prize drawings just for participating.
New circulating policies will be put into place Feb. 15. Books will circulate for three weeks (instead of two weeks), magazine issues, movies, and popular titles for 1 week. Fines will increase to 25 cents per day per item. This will align our policies more closely with Viking Library policies.
Hot tip of the month - The library has a new and expanded webpage, www.morris.lib.mn.us. Tell us how you like it. More about this in the next column.
