A total of 304 children (159 girls and 145 boys) signed up for the program and 125 of those children turned in 196 completed reading logs - 54 from younger children and 71 from older children. Way to go! Five books were given away each week for a total of 35 books given away in weekly drawings. Eight special events were organized: Minnesota Zoomobile, Okee Dokee Brothers, STAR Michaelina Magician, Comic Book Workshop, Lunch Bunch, Book Bunch), Mad Scientist Club, and Friday Flicks. Attendance for all of these events was 1,007 people (783 children and 224 adults). Many, many thanks to our volunteers. Special thanks go to Sharon Ehlers for coordinating the events along with Roxane Malland and Tammy Smith.

The Friends of the Library annual book sale once again was a success with over $2,300 raised for the library. Already donations have come in for next year's sale. Remember, the Friends group is selling books year-round on their own bookshelf near the entrance of the library. Books are $1.00 and $.50. Thank you for your donations.

Our display case in August features a hippo figurine collection of John Inman. If you have a collection you would like to share, contact the library to schedule a month to display it - 320-589-1634.

There is a vacancy on the Library Board with a term through January 2016. The Board meets the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30.
