The 49th annual Boy and Girl Scout Fishing Derby will take place Saturday, Feb. 4 from noon to 4 p.m. on Lake Minnewaska near the Glenwood swimming beach. The event will include Daisies, Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts. Each participant will receive a patch, a raffle ticket for prize drawings and can compete for the prizes awarded for the largest two fish in each of six age and gender categories. There will also be a snow sculpture contest, ice golf/putting, ice bowling and frisbee golf out on the lake. About 300 Scouts and leaders are expected to attend.
Boy and Girl Scouts interested in participating can contact Kathy Jacobs at email@example.com.

There will also be a movie, open gym, swimming, scuba diving and games for the many Scouts who will spend the night at the school. In the morning, the Girl Scouts will offer a pancake breakfast at Glenwood Lutheran Church.
