Boys basketball: Tigers devour St. John's Prep

MORRIS — Austin Dierks’ double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds — both game-highs — and 53 percent shooting sparked a Morris/Chokio-Alberta win over St. John’s Prep, 62-36, in the opening round of the Section 6AA-South playoffs Thursday.

The No. 3-seeded Tigers (19-7) will now meet No. 2 New London-Spicer at 7 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s University in Collegeville in the sub-section semifinals.
