Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers’ tipped off against the rivals the Benson Braves in Morris on Friday, Dec. 6. A close game throughout, but the Braves edged the Tigers in the end, squeaking out a 49-40 victory.

Junior guard Aaron Ahrndt laced a trio of treys on the way to a 15 point night matched by senior center Jacob Goff, who also grabbed 9 rebounds. Zach Mauer also hit double figures with 13 points, plus 4 assists and 4 steals.

For the Tigers, sophomore center Eric Staebler had a good game, scoring 15 points and ending the night with 18 rebounds. Staebler also had a block and two steals in the contest.

The Tigers shooting was off center, just 28 percent on 13 of 45 from the floor.

Noah Grove added 11 points, three assists, two steals, and 100 percent at the free throw line in the loss for the Tigers.

Bryce Jergenson six rebounds and three points in the contest, making 3-4 from the free throw line.

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta will be back in action in Melrose on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
