Traffic will use a detour on Cornell Avenue and Dike Road in Big Stone City, S.D., and Big Stone County Road 30, First Street and Highway 7 in Ortonville.

Work is scheduled to be complete in mid-August, weather permitting.

The new bridge will improve safety for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians, and will be wider with a separate multimodal lane.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones. For statewide travel information, visit www.511mn.org, call 5-1-1 or log on to www.mndot.gov.
