Buddies Chippewa League team improves record to 3-2

Buddies Chippewa Valley baseball team improved its record to 3-2 with a 3-2 victory over Minnewaska II on July 7.
Minnewaska took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but Buddies answered back with a run in bottom of the first. Andrew Shaw lead off with a walk and Michael Milander reached on an error. Shaw scored on a single by Collin Brown.
The score remained deadlocked at one until the fourth inning when Minnewaska scored a run to take a 2-1 lead.
That lead was short lived when Buddies answered with two runs in the bottom of the fourth to a 3-2 lead. Michael Milander lead off with a single and scored on a home run by Collin Brown to left center field.
The pitching duties for Buddies were handled by three players. Chandler Gramm pitched the first three innings. He gave up one run on three hits, walked one and struck out four. Brett Kellner pitched the next 2 1/3 innings. He gave up one run on two hits, walked one, hit three batters and struck out four. Collin Brown relieved Kellner with one out in the sixth. He gave up no runs on no hits, walked none and struck out three to close out the game.
Buddies wins fourth straight
Buddies defeated Minnewaska I 3-2 on Monday, July 12 at Minnewaska.
Minnewaska jumped off to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and the score remained that way until Buddies tied the score in the third.
Ryan Ascheman lead off the inning with a walk and after two wild pitches, he scored on a single by Zach Copa.
Buddies took the lead 2-1 in the fourth when Andrew Shaw led off the inning with a single and following a wild pitch, he scored on a single by Brett Kellner.
Minnewaska tied the game in the fifth, but Buddies answered back to take a 3-2 lead. Alex Copa led off with a single and advanced to second in an error. Following a strikeout, he scored on a single by Zach Copa.
Chandler Gramm started for Buddies on the mound. He pitched three innings giving up one run on four hits, walked one, hit two batters and struck out three. Brett Kellner pitched one inning giving up no runs, no hits, he hit one batter, walked one and struck out one. He was relived by Collin Brown who pitched the last three innings. He gave up no runs on no hits, walked one batter and struck out seven.
Buddies should have a first round bye and its next game should be at home next Monday, July 19 at the Little League field.
