Burke receives Eagle Scout
James Burke received his Eagle Scout award in a ceremony held Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. The Eagle Scout rank is the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts. To earn it, a scout must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges and plan, develop and give leadership to others in a service project that is beneficial to the community, church or school. Burke organized the installation of benches for the playground at St. Mary's School in Morris. Burke is a sophomore at Morris Area High School and is a member of Boy Scout Troop 467. He is the son of Carol and Pat Burke.
