Charges against man accused of kidnapping Clontarf woman expected today in Pope County
GLENWOOD -- A criminal complaint against Dennis Wayne Aasen is expected to be filed later today in Pope County District Court.
According to a news release from Pope County Sheriff Tim Riley, the charges against the 39-year-old man will include kidnapping, burglary, domestic assault, false imprisonment and terroristic threats for the alleged abduction of Jenna Lee Forslin (Kettner), 30, from her rural Clontarf home last week.
Forslin is the daughter of Cheryl Voorhees of Morris. A fund has been established to help cover expenses incurred by Forslin's abduction. Donations can be made to First Security Bank in Benson.
Aasen was arrested without incident around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Metro Fugitive Unit, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Fridley Police Department. He was transported to the Douglas County jail after his arrest.
Law enforcement officers began looking for Forslin on May 17 and located a vehicle that had been taken from Sherburne County in a garage. The officers entered the home and found evidence that Forslin had been assaulted and taken against her will.
Forslin was located during the evening on May 17, in her vehicle along Highway 10 near Little Falls. She was taken into protective custody by the Morrison County Sheriff's office. Law enforcement efforts to capture Aasen, who had left the area on foot, were unsuccessful.
