The investigation into a stabbing in Morris two weeks ago is continuing, and the Morris Chief of Police said arrests won't be made until all information has been dug up.

"We're still finding people to talk to, so we're going to do that," chief Jim Beauregard said Friday. "We're not going to take any action until we've talked to everybody we need to talk to."

Lucas Giese, 28, is recovering after being stabbed during an altercation at a party in the early hours of March 15 in Morris.

Morris Police Officer Jason Reed has been assigned as lead investigator in the incident, Beauregard said.

Early on March 15, Morris Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance and stabbing on the 500 block of West 6th Street.

There was a party at the residence and an argument escalated into a pushing match that moved outside the residence, which apparently is where the stabbing occurred, Beauregard said.

Giese sustained stab wounds to his upper body.

Giese told police he could not identify an assailant, Beauregard said, noting hat the investigation has been complicated since some of the party-goers were not from Morris.

Police have been passing around photographs and attempting to get names, he said.

Police believe there are people who can provide valuable information but that they may be reluctant.

Anyone with information can contact the Morris Police Department at (320) 589-1155.

"The investigation is still on-going, still active," Beauregard said.
