Child dies in Long Prairie farm house fire
LONG PRAIRIE - A child is dead after a house fire near Long Prairie.
Todd County sheriff's authorities say the fire was reported early Sunday east of Long Prairie.
The child was inside the two-story farmhouse. An adult family member who had been in the home was treated for smoke inhalation.
The name of the child has not been released yet.
Long Prairie Fire Chief Jim Kreemers says firefighters spent up to nine hours working to put out the fire.
The state fire marshal's office and the Todd County sheriff's office will investigate.
