Leah Christie and Mike Deutsch were united in marriage June 21, 2008 at American Reformed Church in Luverne. Officiating the ceremony was Pastor David Sikkema. The bride is the daughter of Vern and Bernice Christie of Hancock and the groom is the son of Joe and Brenda Deutsch of Ellsworth. Maid of Honor was Anita Christie and Matron of Honor was Nicole Koser, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Gwen Christie, sister-in-law of the bride; Kris Hanson, Amanda Evink, Alisha Zavadil and Kayla Evink, all cousins of the bride. Best men were Matt Deutsch and Brant Deutsch, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Nate Christie, brother of bride; Chad Geerdes and Richard Deutsch, uncles of the groom; Pete Domeyer and Curt Chapa, friends of the groom. Flower girl was Allie Geerdes, cousin of the groom and ring bearer was Connor Koser, nephew of the bride. Honorary flower girls were Callie Koser, niece of the bride and Lauren Geerdes, cousin of the groom,

Music was provided by Glenda Jacobsma, organist; Lois Strei, pianist; and Gary Strei, Rebecca Binford and Bethany Uhde, vocalists.

A reception and dance followed at the Blue Mound Reception Center in Luverne. The couple resides in Ellsworth where the bride is employed at Ellsworth Public School teaching second grade and the groom is employed at Schwalbaco Hardware in Worthington.
