Christine Kaye Alberts
The funeral service for Christine Kaye Alberts will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Verndale School Auditorium with Minister Bev McNeill presiding. Friends may call on Wednesday at the Johnson-Schuller Chapel in Wadena from 6:00-8:00 PM. Visitation will resume at the Verndale School Auditorium on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Due to a tragic UTV accident, Christine passed away at the age of 16, on Monday, April 21, 2014 in Wadena.
Christine was born to Alan Alberts and Debra McNeill on April 23, 1997, in Morris, MN. She was completing her junior year at Verndale High School in Verndale. She had a passionate interest in fashion and interior design. Always on the move, she enjoyed dance, kickboxing, golf, volleyball and softball. At school, she was active in choir and marching band. In the community, she was active in 4-H, Church and Bell Choir, and Queen of Hope. She volunteered with the Relay for Life and as a Vacation Bible School teacher. Christine never met a stranger, she always met a future friend.
Christine was preceded in death by her grandparents Henry and Erma Alberts.
She is survived by her mother Deb (Jay Hutson) McNeill of Wadena; her father Alan (Barb Walters) Alberts of Clinton; brothers Ben Alberts of Wadena and Jason Tober of Minneapolis; grandparents John and Bev McNeill of Morris and great-grandmother Gladys Helberg of Morris; uncles and aunts David & Marlene Alberts, Gary & Cheryl Alberts, Nick & Melissa Persing, Brian & Julie McNeill and Gary & Kristen McNeill; as well as many cousins and special friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Amanda Frederick, Mikaela Hutson and Neil Hutson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Abby Persing, Michael Persing, Emily Persing, John Persing, Dylan McNeill, Courtney McNeill, Anna McNeill, Jolene McNeill, Matthew McNeill, Haley McNeill, Marcy Petersen, Kristopher Alberts and Laura Alberts.
Burial will be in Aeneas Cemetery in rural Kensington, MN.
