Odyssey Entertainment, Inc. announced today the acquisition of the Washington Square Cinema 5 to their theatre chain. Located in the Washington Square Mall in Detroit Lakes, MN, the theatre is scheduled to reopen under the CineMagic banner keeping the Washington Square Cinema 5 name. Plans are currently underway to upgrade the theatre over the next 12 months. Upgrades being planned include new seating, new sound systems, digital projection systems featuring 3D technology and remodeled concessions area.

With opening day slated to be Dec. 21 just in time for the holiday movie releases, staff and management will be busy cleaning and stocking the theatre over the next few days.

"We are very excited to be in the Detroit Lakes market and are pleased to be operating the theatre in the Washington Square Mall" said Steve Tripp, Odyssey's President. Tripp went on to say "I was involved years ago when this theatre was first built and could not be happier to bring a clean, well run facility to the people of Detroit Lakes. It has been a pleasure working with the Washington Square Mall management in the efforts to reopen the theatre".

The theatre will feature more family friendly pricing as well as weekday specials to make movie going more affordable to everyone. Computerized ticketing and concessions will soon allow for advanced ticket sales, credit card purchases and internet ticket purchasing.

Odyssey Entertainment, Inc. operates theatres under both the Odyssey and CineMagic banners in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and Ohio.
