City Council approves two permits in time for the fair

MORRIS, Minn. -- The Morris City Council met briefly Thursday for a special meeting to approve a liquor license and a gambling permit just in time for the Stevens County Fair.

A quorum of Council members Jeff Miller, Kevin Wohlers and Brian Solvie approved an on- and or off-sale 3.2 malt beverage license for the American Legion and a gambling permit for Assumption Catholic Church.

Both permits were turned in after the council’s last regular meeting on July 23.

The liquor license, good for Aug. 6 through 11, is for the Legion’s beer garden at the Stevens County Fair. The gambling permit will allow Assumption to sell raffle tickets at the fair.
