Four representatives from the Morris Area School Board have terms that will be expiring at the end of this year - Stan Wulf, Dick Metzger, Brent Fuhrman and Jamie Solvie.

There are also three openings on the Morris City Council. Two council members - Bill Storck and Matt Carrington - have four-year terms that expire at the end of 2012. There will also be an election for the council seat left open by Twig Webster's retirement.

Candidates interested in running for city council will need to specify whether they are filing for one of the open four-year terms or to fill the remaining two years of Webster's term.

Anyone wishing to file for a city elected seat must do so at Morris City Hall. School board filings are to be completed at the Morris Area's district office in the high school. There is a $2 filing fee to file for both city council and school board elections.

The city and school filings are for races in which no primary election is held. Everyone who files will be included on the general election ballot in November.

The primary election for state and county offices is Tuesday, Aug. 14.
