City of Morris crews cleaned up the remnants of a weekend storm that left about five inches of precipitation in its wake. More snow could be on its way this week.

Clean up ending or just beginning?

City of Morris crews worked in bitterly cold temperatures on Tuesday to clean up some of the snow that fell on -- and blew into -- Morris on Sunday and early Monday.

Between 8 a.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday, the West Central Research and Outreach Center recorded that 4.5 inches of snow fell in the area, along with another half-inch of precipitation.

Making the clean up work even tougher were high winds and temperatures that reached a high of minus-10 degrees on Monday and Tuesday and bottomed out at minus-22 degrees.

But that might just be the start of another round of snow and cold. Snow began falling again Tuesday afternoon, there is a 30 percent to 40 percent chance of more snow on Thursday, and snow is possible on Friday night into Saturday. It appears a white Christmas is all but guaranteed.

Plus, Thursday's predicted high temperature of 10 degrees could be the balmy reading of the week.
