the fall gathering of Glacial Ridge Conference WELCA, will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. with a light supper at 5 p.m. Program to follow. All are welcome.        s40

Fall Bazaar, Zion Lutheran Church, Morris, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bake sale, produce, crafts, silent auction, etc. Morning coffee and baked goods, lunch at noon.            s40

SPAGHETTI DINNER FUNDRAISER, sponsored by the American Legion and Sons of the American Legion, 5 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion. Free will donation.    s41

FALL BAKE SALE/RAFFLE from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Silent Auction at 12:30 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Chokio. Morning coffee and noon lunch served.    s41

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5039 of Morris will hold its annual membership dinner starting at 4 p.m.  at Southside, Old Number One, in Morris. All Post and Auxiliary members, along with anyone person eligible to join, are urged to attend. Stevens County Veterans Service officer, Hugh Reimers, will give information on qualifying for veterans health care and living in  a veterans’ home.         

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16

LOCALLY GROWN, FAR FROM USUAL. Join Mary Jo Forbord, Morris Healthy Eating coordinator, registered dietitian/nutritionist and farmer. Offered through the Come Grow with Us education series at the West Central Research and Outreach Center.  Lunch begins at noon, and a half-hour program begins at 12:15 p.m., AgCountry Auditorium at the WCROC, 46352 State Hwy 329, Morris.  Bring a lunch–coffee, tea and dessert provided.  Admission is free; donations accepted.    s41

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17

Movie Matinee at the Morris Public Library, 2-3:40 p.m. Popcorn and drinks provided by Allan Saugstad and the Morris Friends of the Library.  No cost. No preregistration.  For more information or specific movie title call the library at 320-589-1634.    s41
