Congressional candidate Lee Byberg visits Morris

MORRIS - U.S. congressional candidate Lee Byberg made a campaign stop at DeToy's Restaurant in Morris Monday as part of a 22 city tour to close out his campaign.

Byberg chose to visit 22 cities across the 7th Congressional District to remind voters about his opponent, U.S. Representative Collin Peterson's, 22 years in office.

After visiting Morris, Byberg planned stops in Elbow Lake and Battle Lake. For more information on the tour visit

Over the last several weeks, Byberg has also been touring the district with his "Northern Lights Freedom Chorus." The group of 200 singers held their last concert on Sunday, Oct. 21 at the Lake Geneva Christian Center in Alexandria.

Around 2,000 people came to the concert, where Byberg was joined by singer Lee Greenwood and U.S. Senate candidate Kurt Bills.

She graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris in 2008 with degrees in English and journalism. She earned a master's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2010. Prior to returning to Morris to work at the Sun Tribune, she worked in trade publishing. She has been recognized by the Minnesota Newspaper Association for human interest, multimedia, business and public affairs reporting.
