Copeland earns doctorate, award at Argosy University

Adam Copeland is the recipient of Argosy University's President's Leadership Award.

The award is given each term to a student in each Argosy program that is considered a future leader in their profession.

Copeland is the son of Dorothy and Darrell DeJager, of Starbuck and formerly of Hancock. Copeland is a 1985 graduate of Hancock High School and a 1990 graduatee of the University of Minnesota, Morris.

This summer, Copeland completed his Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership. Copeland earned a 4.0 grade-point average and a near-maximum score on his dissertation.

Copeland's dissertation dealt with No Child Left Behind and the perception of teachers and administrators of the federal mandate.

Copeland lives in Eagan and teaches Advanced Placement classes at Eagan High School. Copeland and his wife, Rakia, have two children, Nadia and Alex.
