Cougar defeat Presentation in UMAC opener
For the University of Minnesota, Morris women's basketball team, the 2011-12 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) season opened with a win Tuesday as the Cougars took an early lead and never looked back in a 66-44 road win over Presentation.

Kendra Wycoff led the way with 16 points, the second best night of her young career, and the third straight time she has led the Cougars in scoring. Jenni Noordmans was the only other player in double figures with 13 points, but the Cougars had six players with at least six points.
Abby Fragodt paced the Cougars to a season-high 50 rebounds with her career best 12, including seven on the offensive end, as Morris racked up 22 offensive boards. The Cougars used their second chances to produce 20 points, while also getting 21 points off Saint turnovers.
With the first one under their belt, the Cougars will stay on the road this weekend for games with Northwestern and Crown. The Northwestern game will be a rematch of the 2011 UMAC Tournament championship game, where the Cougars won
