Despite outshooting the Saints of St. Scholastica 22-6, the University of Minnesota, Morris fell 1-0 on Saturday in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship. CSS scored in the 79th minute and UMM was unable to find the equalizer before the final whistle.
Once again a red card found its way into the box score as the Cougars played up a man for the final 20 minutes, but could not take advantage.
In the first half the Cougars out shot CSS 10-2 forcing the Saints' keeper to make three saves. In the second half it was 12-4 in favor of the Cougars, but four saves by the Saints kept UMM scoreless.
