Moorhead, Minn. - The Concordia Cobbers scored goals in the 41st and 45th minutes on Tuesday afternoon to break a 0-0 tie and go on to beat the University of Minnesota, Morris men 4-0.
The Cougars outshot the Cobbers 10-7, but the Cobbers got the most of their shots scoring on four of their five shots on goal.
Peter Ruquist got the clean sheet for the Cobbers stopping all three shots on goal from UMM.
The goal in the 41st minute came from a through ball at the top of the box creating a breakaway for Bobby Spoja who put it in the back of the net. Oliver Toussaint got the goal in the 45th minute from a corner kick.
As the second half oppened Kristian Reiersgord scored off a free kick from 28 yards out in the 55th minute. Matt Winkles made it 4-0 in the 77th minute with another breakaway created by a through ball.
The Cougars will now travel to the Twin Cities this weekend to take on Hamline and St. Thomas. UMM will meet the Pipers on Saturday at 1:30 followed by St. Thomas on Sunday at 1 p.m.
