Cougar softball players receive academic honors
Six University of Minnesota, Morris softball student athletes were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's all-academic team for the 2009 season. Nomination for the team required a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
Cougars receiving the honor include: infielder Anne Bergstrom (Twin Valley); catcher/outfielder Diane Blommel (Long Prairie); infielder Ashley Corbett (Forest Lake); infielder Briana Czer (New Ulm); infielder Bailey Jelle (Lakeville); and pitcher Emilie Kalvig (Blackduck).
As a team, the Cougars ranked 27th among all division III softball teams with a cumulative 3.287 grade point average.
