Cougar softball team plays six games in five days
The University of Minnesota, Morris softball team has a jam-packed week ahead, playing three road doubleheaders in a five-day stretch.
It all starts today (Tuesday) at Bethany Lutheran with a 3:00 first pitch. Then over the weekend, UMM travels to Northwestern on Friday (Apr. 13) for a 3:00 p.m. twin bill, and to Crown on Saturday (Apr. 14) for a 12:00 affair.
After a disappointing sweep last week, the Cougars will need to take advantage of these six games as the hope to keep pace in the race for the UMAC Tournament.
The Cougars sit at 2-12 on the year with a 1-2 record in UMAC action, while Bethany Lutheran is atop the league with a 3-0 conference mark and a 7-14 overall record. Northwestern is 7-13 overall and 2-1 in the UMAC, and Crown is just getting their season underway at 0-5 overall with a 0-3 conference record.
Last week, the Cougars were swept at the hands of Martin Luther, falling first 7-6 in nine innings, before the Knights completed the sweep with an 8-0 win in game two.
