Cougar tennis swings to sweep Rams

University of Minnesota, Morris Cougar tennis were able to sweep North Central on Tuesday evening at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis. The women (4-4, 4-2 UMAC) blanked the Rams 9-0 and the men (1-5, 1-5 UMAC) won 7-2 in their match. It was the first win of the season for the Cougar men.
Abby Fragodt and Christina Mollan did not lose a game on Tuesday after sweeping their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 and winning their doubles match 8-0. Kayla Kraemer and Kayla Hegna each lost just one game on the day, which came in their respective singles match. No one on the women's team lost a set during the match.
The men's team won five of six singles matches and two doubles matches. Erik Vergiels won his singles match 6-0, 6-0 in impressive fashion. Matthew Fischback and Calvin Cicha cruised to an 8-0 win in their doubles match.
The Cougars next play host to Northwestern on Wednesday, April 23 at 3 p.m.
