The University of Minnesota, Morris women's soccer team capped off the regular season with an 8-0 shut out over Presentation Saturday at home.
The Cougars finish fourth in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference at 9-5.
Snow the day before moved the game to Big Cat Stadium and the added speed of the field turf played into the hands of the Cougars who scored early and often. Fittingly, seniors Maddy Gerber (1 goal, 1 assist) and Nina Jarnot (2 assists) led the way, even connecting on their own score at the 51:44 mark.
Presentation came into the game fielding only 10 players and then lost another to injury in the first half, which led to an onslaught of scoring late in the first half and early in the second.
Head coach Dan Magner played his entire available roster.
Just over two minutes into the game, Taylor Meehan put the Cougars on the board unassisted.
At the 31:00 mark, Bre Cross scored with an assist from Liz Vold.
In the 41st minute, Molly Olson scored on a Gerber assist.
Katie Kestner started the second-half scoring early with an unassisted goal.
Five minutes later, Leah Parker scored on a Jarnot assist.
Less than a minute later, Gerber and Jarnot connected for the sixth goal of the game.
Kestner tallied her second goal of the game unassisted at the 84:01 mark.
With less than three minutes remaining on the clock, Stephanie Leslie made it 8-0 unassisted.
