Cougar women down Presentation

The University of Minnesota, Morris women's basketball team stayed undefeated in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference with a 72-55 win over Presentation College on Jan. 16.

The Cougars jumped out to a 31-18 halftime advantage.

The Cougars shot 47.6 percent from the field and were 75 percent at the free-throw line.

The Saints were shooting only 29.6 percent from the field, but were 87.5 percent at the line.

Three Cougars were in double figures on the scoring column.

Steph Roggenbuck scored 20 points, Coresa Leighty added 18 points, and Diane Blommel had 13.

Also scoring were Jenni Noordmans with seven, Kara Norris with six, Nikki Washek with five, Lacey Albers with two, and Kaila Lindsey with one.

Norris led the Cougars with seven rebounds. Leighty grabbed six boards.

Blommel dished out nine assists.

Both Jamie Rainey and Leighty recorded four steals.
