Playing their second straight game against a team from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Cougars found similar results. The host Comets had five players finish in double figures, led by 17 from Megan Groen.

The Cougars' offense got going in the second half, but the Comets' offense was too much as they held off the late push to comfortably win the game 88-76.

Turnovers played a key role in the game, as Mayville State finished plus-six in turnover margin.

The Cougars fall below the .500 mark at 2-3 on the season, while Mayville State improves to 8-2.

The Cougars continue play on the road next week, also continuing play against the NAIA when they travel to Valley City State on Dec. 7 for a 5:30 tip. The Cougars then return home two days later to host Mayville State in a rematch on Dec. 9.
