Cougar women score 68-point victory

The University of Minnesota, Morris women's basketball team had a big 101-33 home win over North Central University at the P.E. Center Friday night.

The Cougars used 45.2 percent (19-42) shooting to take a 42-8 lead at halftime and were 25-of-49 (51 percent) in the second half.

Sophomore Diane Blommel scored a career-high 21 points to lead five Cougars in double digits, helping the Cougars put up a season-high 101 points.

Other Cougars scoring in double figures were Jenni Noordmans with 18, Tynell Kocer with 16, Coresa Leighty with 13, and Nikki Washek with 12.

Also scoring were Natalie Thomas with six, Steph Roggenbuck with five, Joy Heysee with four, and Lacey Albers, Kaila Lindsey, and Kara Norris with two apiece.

Roggenbuck and Noordmans led at the boards with seven rebounds each. Heysee grabbed six.
